Summer Haiku
With shimmering wings
It dips and dives through daylight
An airborne dragon
Smashes into dreams
Shakes the walls, roof to cellar
Flash of light—thunder
Worms gather en masse
Staging a sidewalk protest
Against the rain drops
Playful shadows dance
Leaf shapes tango with sunbeams
On a sidewalk stage
Dandelion fluff
Stringed bubbles tied to the lawn
Waiting for a breath
