bumblebees don’t care
against the laws of Physics
taking flight, despite
leaves like closed eyelids
course with life, backlit by sun
face ever upward
unspoken questions
the chirps of cricket voices
noises in the night
sometimes the muse screams
a banshee’s wail from the dark
her song—sorrow, loss

a lovely poem!
Thank you.
Love the illustrations! Are they yours?
Thank you.
Yes, those are some of my “quick doodles” that I like to think embrace the idea of haiga. In any case they seem to mesh well with my attempts at haiku/senryu.
Haiga, interesting, just doing some research now. If you’re ever feeling bored and would like to illustrate any of my poetry I would love to collaborate, please, let me know.
I’m a bit busy right now (that’s an understatement), but I’ll keep you in mind for the future. Thanks again.
