Childhood Haiku

Hidden special place
Where time doesn’t matter much
Unless it’s lunchtime

Wiggle that loose tooth
With a tongue tasting of tin
Painful jolt of life

How to pick a scab:
Start at the edges—pry up
Eating optional

Double Dutch jumpers
Call cadence from cracked concrete
Bobby tails bouncing
